Java United FC Bolster Their Defense With Brazilian Defender Cleylton Santos

Java United FC have strengthened their defensive options by completing the signing of Brazilian centre-back Cleylton Santos ahead of the closing of the transfer window. The move is aimed at adding greater stability and depth to the back line as the club prepares for a demanding 2026/2027 Super League campaign. His arrival gives the team another experienced option at the heart of the defense.

Cleylton brings valuable experience from his previous spells in Indonesian football, having represented Persis Solo and Borneo FC. That familiarity with the league is expected to help him settle quickly at his new club. Java United believe his background and playing profile fit the team's defensive requirements and should allow him to adapt without a lengthy adjustment period.

The 1993-born defender has already joined his new teammates in training under head coach Fabio Lefundes. His early sessions have focused on building physical fitness while developing an understanding of the team's tactical approach. Cleylton has also begun establishing chemistry with the coaching staff and his new teammates as he prepares for his first competitive appearance for the club.

Cleylton arrives with a solid record in Indonesian football, having made 29 appearances for Persis Solo and another 15 for Borneo FC. His experience at the top level is expected to play an important role in helping Java United improve their defensive consistency throughout the season. The club will be hoping his presence can provide greater resilience during a long and competitive domestic campaign.

The Brazilian could make his official debut when Java United host Borneo FC at Jatidiri Stadium in Semarang on October 11, 2026. The fixture would provide an interesting first test for the new signing, particularly given his previous association with Borneo FC. With limited time remaining in the transfer window, Java United will be looking for Cleylton to make an immediate impact and strengthen their defensive foundation.
