Real Madrid Open the Door to Raul Asencio’s Potential Exit in Summer 2027

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to reconsider Raul Asencio’s future during the summer 2027 transfer window. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish defender could become available if the club receives an offer that satisfies both parties. Although Asencio remains under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2031, his long-term position in the squad is not entirely secure.

A January departure appears unlikely, as Asencio is currently recovering from an injury and remains focused on returning to full fitness. The defender underwent surgery and is prioritising his rehabilitation before making any decisions about his future. For now, there are no clear indications that Real Madrid intend to make an immediate move regarding his situation, making the upcoming winter transfer window relatively quiet for the centre-back.

Asencio was not considered completely untouchable during the summer 2026 transfer window, despite previously being viewed as part of Real Madrid’s long-term plans. However, no suitable offer arrived, and the defender ultimately remained at the club. Madrid could adopt a similar approach next summer, leaving the possibility of a transfer open if an attractive proposal emerges from an interested club.

Despite the uncertainty, Asencio has no immediate reason to push for an exit. His contract provides considerable security, and he remains determined to establish himself at one of the biggest clubs in European football. Rather than focusing on a potential transfer, the Spanish centre-back is expected to concentrate on his recovery and work towards earning a more prominent role in the team.

Asencio’s performances after returning from injury could prove decisive in shaping his future at Real Madrid. Consistent displays and improved contributions could strengthen his position in the squad, while increased competition for defensive places may influence the club’s assessment. Although a summer 2027 departure remains a possibility, the final decision will depend on his progress, Real Madrid’s sporting plans and whether a suitable offer arrives.
