Roma Push for Jayden Oosterwolde as €20 Million Fenerbahce Deal Takes Shape

AS Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign Jayden Oosterwolde from Fenerbahce as they look to strengthen their defensive options. The Serie A club are reportedly working on a loan agreement that would include an option to make the move permanent for €20 million at the end of the season. Under certain conditions, that option could reportedly become an obligation to buy.
Oosterwolde has emerged as an attractive target because of his ability to operate in several positions. Primarily a central defender, the Dutchman can also play as a left-back and contribute further forward on the flank when required. His versatility has made him a priority for Roma as they seek greater flexibility and depth in their defensive unit.
However, Roma must carefully assess Oosterwolde’s physical condition before completing any potential deal. The 23-year-old is currently recovering from a muscle injury and has previously suffered a serious ligament problem in October 2024. His injury history could therefore play an important role in the final negotiations between the two clubs.
If the proposed conditions are fulfilled, Oosterwolde could sign a five-year contract with Roma and continue his career at the Stadio Olimpico. The defender began his development at FC Twente before briefly spending time at Parma, eventually moving to Fenerbahce in January 2023 for a reported €6 million transfer fee.
Oosterwolde’s experience across different European competitions has increased his appeal as Roma prepare for another demanding Serie A campaign. While the transfer remains dependent on negotiations and his recovery, the potential €20 million agreement could give Roma a versatile defensive player while allowing the club to manage the financial risk through an initial loan arrangement.
